Yati Narasinghanand Proposes 'Sanatan Vedic Nation' to Safeguard Hindus Globally

Hindu priest Yati Narasinghanand, known for his provocative statements, has advocated for the establishment of a 'Sanatan Vedic Nation' exclusively for Hindus. This declaration followed the denial of permission to hold a religious convention in Haridwar.

Narasinghanand, the head priest of Dasna Devi temple in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, expressed his grievances during a Mahayagya at the Sripanchdashnam Juna Akhara headquarters. He asserted that the absence of a dedicated nation for Hindus is the primary cause of their suffering worldwide. He stated, "The biggest reason for the misery of us Hindus is that we do not have a country of our own."

The priest's vision for a Sanatan Vedic Nation includes the exclusion of mosques, madrasas, and individuals he labels as 'jihadis.' He drew parallels to Israel, suggesting that just as Israel protects Jews globally, this proposed nation would safeguard Hindus worldwide. He proclaimed, "The Sanatan Vedic Nation will protect every Sanatani of the whole world in the same way as Israel protects every Jew."

This development occurred after authorities intervened to halt a three-day Vishwa Dharma Sansad, organized by Narasinghanand, intended to address issues such as alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. The police dismantled the event's setup, citing the lack of necessary permissions.

Narasinghanand criticized the authorities' actions, describing them as an insult to Sanatan Dharma. He called upon Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami to take action against the officials involved, accusing them of treating Sanatan Dharma with disdain. He remarked, "Entering the headquarters of Sripanchdashnam Juna Akhara and stalling the Vishwa Dharma Sansad shows that now Sanatan Dharma has become a subject of joke for the officials."

Shrimahant Raju Das of Ayodhya's Hanuman Garhi also condemned the authorities' intervention, expressing anger over the disruption of the Vishwa Dharma Sansad and labeling it as an affront to Sanatan Dharma.

Narasinghanand's statements have previously attracted controversy. He is currently out on bail in connection with the Haridwar Dharam Sansad hate speech case, where he was accused of making inflammatory remarks.

In response to his recent statements, various Hindu spiritual leaders have expressed concern. A group of 62 Hindu spiritual leaders issued a statement condemning divisive events like the Dharam Sansad organized by Narasinghanand, urging action against hate speeches that threaten communal harmony.

Authorities have previously taken measures to restrict Narasinghanand's activities. In one instance, he was placed under house arrest, with police restricting his and his disciples' movements to prevent potential law and order issues.

Narasinghanand has also raised concerns about the treatment of Hindus in neighboring countries. He has voiced anger regarding the alleged genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh, calling for attention to the plight of Hindus beyond India's borders.
