NIA Tightens Probe into Gurpatwant Pannun, Confiscates Chandigarh Properties

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its probe against Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the head of the proscribed Khalistani group, Sikh For Justice (SFJ), by initiating searches and property seizures. Known for his divisive calls for Punjab's secession from India, Pannun has reportedly instigated multiple campaigns promoting anti-state activities. With six ongoing cases, the NIA recently attached three of his properties in Chandigarh and is scrutinizing further assets to disrupt SFJ's operations.

In a wider effort against separatist extremism, NIA agents have executed simultaneous searches across Punjab, particularly targeting properties and associates connected to Pannun’s activities. During these searches, the agency recovered digital devices and documents reportedly linking the SFJ leader to several calls for violent action within India and abroad. Pannun’s threats, which previously prompted a high-security response from Indian authorities, included warnings against Air India operations and specific calls to boycott flights for political motives.
