Approximately 1,000 individuals were involved in the disturbances, resulting in injuries to several police officers and damage to multiple vehicles and properties.
Law enforcement agencies responded by deploying tear gas and resorting to baton charges to disperse the agitated crowds. Deputy Commissioner of Police Niketan Kadam sustained serious injuries during a combing operation, with two other officers also wounded in the line of duty.
In response to the escalating violence, authorities imposed a curfew in several areas of Nagpur, including Mahal, Hansapuri, and Ganeshpeth, to restore order and prevent further clashes.
