Mamata Banerjee's Oxford Speech Disrupted by Student Protests

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's address at Oxford University's Kellogg College faced interruptions from student protesters. The demonstrators, affiliated with the Students' Federation of India UK chapter, raised placards and voiced concerns over issues in West Bengal, including allegations of violence during the 2023 panchayat elections and a high-profile case involving the alleged rape of a minor by a Trinamool Congress leader's son.

During her speech on women's empowerment in Bengal, Banerjee was confronted by the protesters, who questioned her administration's handling of these incidents. The Chief Minister responded by emphasizing the importance of unity and inclusive development, addressing the accusations and challenges raised during her presentation.
