Sukhbir Badal Thanks Punjab Police After Temple Attack
A targeted attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal, leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), unfolded dramatically at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, where an assailant fired at him. The former deputy chief minister escaped unharmed, with the bullet striking a nearby wall. The shooter, identified as Narain Singh Chaura, a former member of the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), was subdued by bystanders and handed over to authorities. Chaura, notorious for his involvement in crimes such as the 2004 Burail jailbreak, reportedly launched the assault while Badal was fulfilling a penance duty imposed by the Akal Takht.
