BJP, RSS Accused of Constitutional Sabotage by Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi intensified his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his allies in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), accusing them of a deliberate attempt to "destroy India's Constitution." Campaigning in Kerala’s Wayanad district, Gandhi linked Modi's governance to actions he claims compromise India's democratic framework, describing him as a "tool" for a small circle of ultra-wealthy business interests.

Gandhi alleged that Modi, backed by the RSS, has prioritized the interests of "five or six" of the nation’s wealthiest individuals. His critique extended to specific policies that, according to him, divert attention from fundamental issues like unemployment and inflation. Citing Modi's past statements on ambitious projects, including India's plans for an Olympic bid and space exploration missions, Gandhi argued that these publicized projects serve as distractions, allowing Modi to avoid discussing economic challenges affecting average citizens.

This rally comes as part of a broader Congress-led strategy to counter BJP’s narrative and win back support in states where the BJP's dominance has been a challenge. The Congress, alongside its INDIA alliance, aims to reassert its relevance ahead of the 2024 general elections, particularly in southern and opposition-led states where it still enjoys strong support bases.
