65 Bullets, YouTube Videos, Bikes: How Baba Siddique Murder Was Planned

Baba Siddique, a prominent leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and former Maharashtra minister, was fatally shot outside his office in Bandra West, Mumbai, as part of a meticulously orchestrated plot. On the evening of October 12, 2024, six rounds of bullets were fired at Siddique, with three of them hitting the 66-year-old politician. He succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital, leaving the city in shock over this high-profile assassination, which police later confirmed was a contract killing.

Investigations quickly revealed that this assassination was far from a spontaneous crime. In a chilling revelation, law enforcement discovered that the murder was carefully planned by individuals linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. According to officials, the gang prepared the logistics of the attack by carefully following Siddique’s movements and leveraging digital platforms to coordinate the execution.

The shooters, identified as Gurmail Baljit Singh and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, were both arrested within 24 hours of the incident. Singh, 23, hails from Haryana, while Kashyap, 19, is originally from Uttar Pradesh. A third accomplice, Shiv Kumar, remains at large, with police teams expanding their search across several states, including Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

In addition to the weapons used in the assassination, police recovered 65 bullets from the attackers during their arrest. Disturbingly, it was also uncovered that the murder plot was facilitated through the use of YouTube tutorials, where the accused learned critical aspects of gun handling and escape strategies. These videos served as an alarming resource in the process of planning the murder, with the shooters honing their skills through online content before carrying out the assassination.

Motorbikes were another essential element in the execution of the murder, helping the attackers flee the scene immediately after the shooting. The motorcycles, which had been stolen in advance, allowed the shooters to evade capture for a short period before Singh was eventually apprehended. His arrest occurred just hours after the murder when he was found hiding in bushes near the crime scene, trying to avoid detection. In a dramatic moment, video footage captured Singh’s arrest, showing him pleading with the police not to harm him as he was taken into custody.

As further details emerged during interrogation, it was disclosed that the shooters had been closely monitoring Siddique’s office for weeks, tracking his routine with precision. They reportedly studied his movements and the timing of his departure from the office each evening. On the day of the murder, they waited for him to leave the building, at which point they struck with deadly force.

This assassination has sent shockwaves through Maharashtra’s political circles, as Siddique was a well-known figure with decades of political experience. Having held numerous ministerial portfolios in previous state governments, his death marks a tragic and violent loss for his party and constituents.

Authorities are now intensifying their investigation into the role of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been implicated in several other high-profile crimes across the country. Bishnoi, currently incarcerated, continues to wield significant influence from behind bars, orchestrating operations like the murder of Siddique through his extensive network of associates. His gang has been known to be involved in extortion, armed robbery, and contract killings, making them a persistent threat in various regions.
